• Is it necessary to get pre-approved before shopping for a home?

While not necessary, it is highly recommended that you get pre-approved before making an offer on a home.  It can be very frustrating for the buyer and the seller to find out after an offer has been made that you will not qualify.  To receive a pre-approval letter, go to the Apply Now section of this web site to begin the process.  Once you submit your information, one of our Loan Officers will contact you to discuss your qualifications and which SECU program will best fit your needs. When you find the perfect home, you simply call your Loan Officer to complete your application.  At that time you'll have an opportunity to lock in our great rates and fees, and we'll complete the processing of your request.
